順天聖母

道教神名，救助妇女难产之神，也称临水夫人，原名陈靖姑

正值靖姑二八妙龄时，一次，她给隐居在山里学道的哥哥送饭，途中遇到一骨瘦如柴的老太婆，有气无力地在崎岖山道上艰难行走，陈靖姑动了恻隐之心，即把饭菜转送于她。这老太原是观音变的，观音为其善举所感，又看到民间妇女生产困难，遂教她符术，驱使五丁，要她行善积德，为民间保胎救产。

When Chen Jinggu was twenty-eight years old, she delivered rice to her brother, studying Taoism in the mountains one day. On the way, she saw a thin old woman struggling to walk on a steep mountain. Chen Jinggu felt sorry for her and gave the rice to the old woman. This old woman was changed by Guanyin Bodhisattva, who was touched by her kindness and saw that folk women had difficulties in giving birth, so she taught her charms and spells to do good deeds and save the births of folk women.
