A.萱：本意萱草，又可指母亲。

B.荫本意是指林木遮住日光所成的阴影。
The shade of the trees covers the sun.

C.“槐”在古代往往代指“三公”或“三公之位”，指做大官的男性。
In ancient times, it often refers to men who are prominent officials.
此处“萱荫槐”也许是指女性“荫庇”了男性，这是该匾额的疑点所在。

This “Xuan Yin Huai” may mean that women “shade” the men, which is the doubtful point of the plaque.
