A mother of high moral character. Meng’s mother, who was frugal, hardworking, and persevering, was highly respected for her skill in teaching her child. Mencius lost his father at the age of three and relied on his mother to raise him to adulthood, becoming a Confucian sage to whom later generations aspired.

借用孟母的典故，意在讴歌这位母亲高尚的品格以及值得称赞的育子方法。
